“Activator” Alert: MacOS Malware Hides in Cracked Apps, Targeting Crypto Wallets

A previously unidentified malware has been discovered targeting macOS users, particularly those with cracked software and apps, according to reports from Kaspersky. This stealthy threat, dubbed “Activator”, preys on cryptocurrency wallets and has the ability to collect system information surreptitiously. The virus is capable of infecting Macs running macOS Ventura 13.6 and later, including those powered by both Intel and Apple Silicon processors. This highlights a serious vulnerability on Apple’s part and emphasizes the inherent risks associated with using cracked or unverified apps.
