“Activator” Alert: MacOS Malware Hides in Cracked Apps, Targeting Crypto Wallets

In a recent “Activator” alert, cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has identified a new strain of MacOS malware hidden within cracked applications. This previously undocumented malware is specifically designed to breach and infiltrate Apple macOS users’ systems, targeting machines running macOS Ventura 13.6 and later, which evidences its capacity to infect both Intel and M1-chip Macs. The malware is capable of harvesting sensitive system information and cryptocurrency wallet data. This raises serious security concerns for the tech giant, highlighting the escalating risks associated with downloading cracked software.
