MacOS Targeted by New Backdoor Linked to ALPHV Ransomware

MacOS, the proprietary operating system developed by Apple Inc., is currently under threat from two new cyber security vulnerabilities. The first, a new backdoor named ‘ALPHV Ransomware’, targets MacOS and poses significant data security risks. The second vulnerability disguises itself as an update for the Visual Studio code editor, a product of Microsoft, but is in fact a malicious data exfiltration malware. This malware exploits a weakness in the system, enabling cybercriminals to potentially gain unauthorized access and steal sensitive user data. It’s crucial for Apple and Microsoft to address these vulnerabilities to ensure the security and privacy of their users.
