Pegasus Spyware Targeted iPhones of Journalists and Activists in Jordan

In a significant breach of privacy and security, NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware was used to target iPhones of journalists, activists, lawyers, and members of the civil society in Jordan. According to collaborative findings by Access Now and Citizen Lab, a total of 35 individuals were targeted with nine being publicly confirmed. A deeper threat assessment revealed that six of these targets had their devices compromised. This report spells out a critical concern for Apple, the manufacturer of iPhones, about the vulnerability of their devices to sophisticated spyware attacks like the one launched by NSO Group.
